AMMONIUM TOXICITY IN POTATO SHOOT CULTURE |

| Abstract:
Two-year subcultures of potato on a modified M.S. medium induced progressive abnormalities : short internodes, yellowings, curled leaflets, necrosis of internode calli… Electron microscopy examination did not reveal any microorganisms or viruses in most diseased tissues. Deletion of ammonium in the medium allowed the recovery of diseased plantlets. Varietal differences in susceptibility to ammonium toxicity were also observed. | |
