"VITRIFICATION" : AN INDUCEABLE AND REVERSIBLE PHENOMENON

Authors:   M. Pâques, Ph. Boxus, M. Dulos
Abstract:
Explants of M.26 apple rootstock are kept from 1 to 6 days on a vitrifying medium + BAP (liquid medium) and then transferred on a non vitrifying medium (solid medium - BAP). After 6 days, the vitrification inducing is complete and recovering become impossible. After 1 to 5 days, vitrification inducing is partial or total, but subsequent recovery is function of the inducing treatment; shorter is the treatment, higher is the recovery.
