Abstract:
A recent definition of commercial horticulture has been given by Jensen (1969) who defines commercial horticulture as "high investment crop production using resources intensively to obtain a high quality, high value product…." In more basic terms, however, horticulture can be regarded as a specialized, intensified form of agriculture which involves both the art and science of growing fruit, vegetable and ornamental crops.
