POST-GRADUATE TRAINING IN HORTICULTURE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES AT LOS BAÑOS |

| Abstract:
The College of Agriculture, U.P. at Los Baños has been engaged in training manpower in horticulture for the Philippines and other tropical countries since its foundation 76 years ago. In addition to the excellent faculty and laboratory facilities of the college, it maintains also a plant germplasm of horticultural crops which serves as educational materials and foundation for the production of commercial varieties. In 1977 the College of Agriculture was a recipient of the Ramon Magsaysay Award (Nobel Award counterpart) for International Understanding. The College is recognized for its quality of teaching and research, fostering a sharing of knowledge in modernizing Southeast Asian agriculture. | |
