Abstract:
Ethylene is biosynthesized from methionine via two key Intermediates, S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) and 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC). The state of current knowledge concerning regulation of ethylene biosynthesis will be reviewed.
The mode of ethylene action in plants, and the change in sensitivity of plant tissues to ethylene in relation to ethylene binding will be discussed.
