Abstract:
Dry and dehydrated plant commodities often contain large numbers of micro-organisms, necessitating a terminal end-treatment that will render products acceptable from a microbiological point of view.
Radurisation as a means of decontamination of foodstuffs is ideally suited for this purpose and is gaining wide acceptance.
The benefits of this process on several products are discussed.
