Abstract:
In the course of the transmission experiments carried out in the present work, the authors were able to confirm new vectors Philaenus spumarius (L.) and Artianus interstitialis (Germ.) transmitting the mycoplasma causing apple proliferation disease from infected celery to apple seedling and from infected celery to healthy ones.
It was shown that the nymphs can acquire the pathogen and transmit it only in the adult stage.
It was also shown that the minimum acquisition feeding period was 7–15 days (by adults) and 7–9 days (by nymphs). The incubation period was 24 to 30 days (by using nymphs) and 28 to 35 (by using adults). Adults were found to be able to maintain its ability to transmit the mentioned mycoplasma up to the end of their lives.
