Abstract:
Apple proliferation occurs sporadically in France;mycoplasma like organisms (MLO) are associated with this severe disease.
The MLO could be detected inside the sieve tubes by the use of DAPI test in different kinds of tissues harvested from trees or shoot cultures in vitro. MLO were propagated through the different stages of micropropagation.
The growth, multiplication, axillary buds, leafs and stipules development of diseased shoots were compared to that of healthy shoots.
The possibility of growing diseased plantlets in a glasshouse from micropropation is examined and the use of propagation in vitro in the study of apple proliferation is discussed.
