Abstract:
Field indexing, electron or U.V. light-microscopy and double-stranded RNA isolation were used to detect little cherry disease in ornamental cherry trees.
Tests were carried out to determine the best sampling sites on the shoots for light-microscopy observations and for dsRNA isolation.
According to the field indexing results, light-microscopy was chosen for its sensitivity and its feasibility.
This method is proposed as a reliable means for identifying cherry trees that are infected with little cherry disease.
