CHEMIOTHERAPY OF NECROTIC RING SPOT VIRUS (NRSV) IN CHERRY

Authors:   L.J. Bogush, T.D. Verderevskaja, S.S. Bondarenko
Abstract:
Virucidal effect of some chemicals on NRSV was studied by introducing them in the scion tissue of P. avium L., cherries and sweet cherries. Chemical DHT (2,4 dioxohexahydro 1,3,5 - triazin) in all concentrations inhibited NRSV up to 90% compared with controls. Virus and its inactivation was determined on Shirofugen and by ELISA-test immediately after the 3rd injection and test was repeated for two years in scions, grown from the treated buds. The retesting showed, that DHT inhibates the virus and does not decrease its concentration. As the result of this treatment we received 19 virus free clones of cherry and sweet cherry varieties, previously infected by NRSV.
