Abstract:
The availability of the ELISA technique for virus detection in stone fruit trees has enabled us, during the last two years, to gain more knowledge on the incidence of these viruses in Spain than was done over the previous 15 years.
Some infection values differ significantly from others and this is being discussed: 72% PDV infection in native almond trees in the Valencia region and nearly 100% CLSV infection in native peach trees in the Murcia district.
CLSV seems to be associated with symptoms of pseudo plum pox observed on European plums cv.
Toscana.
Tom RSV could not be detected in any of the peach trees with stem pitting symptoms.
Detection of plum pox virus will be presented in another communication.
