Abstract:
Apple chlorotic leaf spot virus (CLSV) was investigated in several apple-growing regions of Serbia.
Studies were performed on twenty three, mainly newly introduced, apple cultivars.
The inoculum was prepared from flower petals, homogenised in 2,5% (v/v) nicotine solution and inoculated on Chenopodium quinoa and C. amaranticolor leaves.
It has been found that CLSV appeared on nearly all examined apple cultivars and was widely distributed in many orchards.
Thus, nineteen out of twenty three apple cultivars were infected.
The percentage of infected plants was also very high.
It related from 35 and 39 (Yersey Mack and Primouge) to 91 and 93 percent (Mollie's and Ida Red) respectively.
Only three cultivars were below 20 percent infected.
