| Abstract:
The study on the spermicidal effect, in vitro, on ox sperms, of the fractions and pure compound, isolated from-Zingiber cassumunar Roxb., revealed that fractions no. 3 and 4 and terpinen-4-ol isolated from fraction no. 4, possess ED100 at the % concentrations of 0.05, 0.025 and 0.015, respectively, equivalent to that of 0.025% of nonyl phenoxy polyethoxy ethanol. The results on chemistry, pharmacology and toxicology studies, will be discussed. | |
