Abstract:
In the UK, 250 million plants raised in 'modules' of various types are used to establish vegetable crops on approximately 9000 ha representing 20% of the transplanted acreage.
The effects of module shape, type of compost and nutrition on transplant establishment are discussed together with methods for controlling and modifying transplant and crop growth.
