Abstract:
Several mathematical models for pest control strategies comprising the release of sterile males, the release of predators and insecticide application in predator-prey systems are reviewed and are analysed with respect to stability.
Based on simple but strongly nonlinear models exhibiting complex dynamic patterns possible mechanisms of pest control are discussed.
