The biosynthesis of ethylene will be reviewed. Ethylene and carbon dioxide are involved in the development and activity of the various steps of ethylene biosynthesis. Autocatalytic ethylene biosynthesis as observed in climacteric fruits and in some flowers will be presented as an example of ethylene action. | |
