Abstract:
The performance of paclobutrazol (PP333) was evaluated in terms of growth regulation and promotion of fruit-bud formation.
Repeated sprayings of 2nd and/or 3rd year trees with paclobutrazol at 0.1 to 0.15% resulted in reduced shoot growth and an increased number of spurs and fruit buds.
Next year, due to the heavier flowering and fruit set, the crop was up to +21 per cent heavier in treated trees than in untreated ones.
