PACLOBUTRAZOL EFFECTS ON ORANGES UNDER TROPICAL CONDITIONS

Authors:   R. Delgado, R. Casamayor, J.L. Rodriguez, P. Cruz, R. Fajardo
Abstract:
The effects of soil applications of Paclobutrazol made in November using 2.5, 5 and 10 g a.i per tree on vegetative flushes, tree morphology, bloom, fruit-set, growth, fruit on "Valencia" orange are reported. There was a reduction in the vegetative vigour with shortening of shoots and internodes. Canopy volume growth rate was also reduced. In spite of a small fruit-set, harvest was significantly increased due to a greater blooming for the highest application rates.
