ISHS Acta Horticulturae 179: V International Symposium on Growth Regulators in Fruit Production

THE INFLUENCE OF RETARDANTS ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF YOUNG APPLE TREES

Author:   K. Scibisz
Abstract:
The growth and yield of young apple trees are determined by factors such as cultivar and rootstock but can be influenced by cultural practices such as nitrogen fertilization, root pruning and application of growth retardants such as Alar. This paper compares various growth control methods on three apple cultivars on two different rootstocks.
