ISHS Acta Horticulturae 179: V International Symposium on Growth Regulators in Fruit Production

THE SPRAY APPLICATION PROCESS: CENTRAL FOR THE EFFICIENT USE OF GROWTH REGULATORS IN TREE FRUITS

Authors:   Martin J. Bukovac, Robert E. Whitmoyer, Donald L. Reichard
Abstract:
The significance of the spray application process is discussed in relation to the performance of foliar-applied plant growth regulators. Several significant components of the process, namely, formulation, spray coverage, tree form, carrier volume, spray droplet: plant surface interaction and deposit formation are discussed as to their effects on application efficiency and fruit tree responses to growth regulators.
