ISHS Acta Horticulturae 177: IV International Symposium on Flower Bulbs

THE BEHAVIOUR OF VARIOUS PRODUCTS IN CONTROLLING FUSARIUM OXYSPORUM IN IXIA SPP.

Authors:   M.G. Fantino, M.R. Contarini, C. Pasini
Abstract:
Fusarium oxysporum (Snyd. et Hans) was isolated from imported Ixia bulbs. It showed typical pathogenicity as regards

Ixia, Freesia and Iris, while Gladiolus, Hyacinth, Narcissus and Muscari were immune.

As this fungus could not be attributed to Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. gladioli, we propose the provisional denomination of "pathotype F".

This pathotype was used for disinfection tests on bulbs with traditional benzimidazole fungicides, alone or mixed with Captafol, and with a product based on Prochloraz.
