ISHS Acta Horticulturae 177: IV International Symposium on Flower Bulbs

STUDIES ON THE CORM PRODUCTION OF GLADIOLUS IN THE SUBTROPICAL REGION OF PUNJAB, INDIA

Authors:   A.P.S. GILL, M. AULAKH, L. PASWAN
Abstract:
Cormels of three sizes vis. 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 cm of cvs Snow princess and Oscar yielded corms of about 3.0, 4.0 and 4.5 cm respectively within twenty weeks of planting done during August-October. Plantings of cormels after October resulted in the production of poor grade of corms because of delayed emergence of the cormels due to lower temperature conditions prevailing during December to February in Punjab, India.
