Abstract:
A distributed network using Texas Instruments computers has been set up at the NIAE to monitor and control research greenhouses.
It is planned to use the microcomputer in a Venlo greenhouse to evaluate the performance of new (particularly adaptive) control algorithms.
Measurements show the relative performance of adaptive and proportional plus integral algorithms for ventilation control under different external conditions.
Simulations show that modifications since made to the adaptive algorithm should give similar temperature control with less ventilator movement.
