Abstract:
After six years of observations the yielding efficiency was reported of Early Coronet peach cultivar grafted on Damas 1869 rootstock, at 4 x 1.25 – 2.00 – 2.50 m distances, and on seedling rootstock, at 4 x 1.50 – 2.50 – 3.50 m distances; of Early Sungrand nectarine on Saint Julien GF 655–2 at 4 x 1.25 – 2.00 – 2.50 m distances, and Independence on seedling at 4 x 1.50 – 2.50 – 3.50 m distances.
Of particular interest seem to be the yielding results achieved with a greater density of trees per hectar, compared to the other two cases, and this applies to all scion-rootstock combinations tested.
On the other hand, negative aspects are due to a loss of ripening precocity of about one day, compared to larger distances, and to a smaller fruits caliber.
