| Abstract:
A system is described whereby bags of perlite are brought straight from a factory, pierced and placed in a polythene canal with a series of polystyrene weirs to even out any irregularities in the irrigation system, and fed with a complete hydroponic solution. Results in commercial practice with tomatoes and cucumbers have proved very satisfactory. Details are also given of the physical properties of perlite samples and also sampling and analytical analyses of the perlite. | |
