Abstract:
A traditional orchard management practice in lemon culture in Sicily is "Forzatura" (forcing), which is accomplished by withholding irrigation during the summer until trees are wilted.
The purpose of this technique is to accentuate the summer bloom and consequently obtain a lemon crop in the following summer when prices are high.
The present state of knowledge on this subject is presented.
