PRACTICAL EVALUATION OF THERMAL SCREENS

Abstract: The use of thermal screens is a common method for energy saving in German horticulture. Although reliable installations are principally availlable, growers have to overcome a lot of problems when they use screens. The most essentual problems are being described and discussed as tese are: ununiformity of inside temperature, temperature fall or rise when the screen is opened or closed, insufficient tightness especially at elder installations, missing knowledge about reliability of the material.
