ISHS Acta Horticulturae 169: International Workshop on Improvement of Sweet and Sour Cherry Varieties and Rootstocks

SWEET CHERRY INTERSPECIFIC HYBRIDS PROPAGATION BY SOFTCUTTINGS USING ROOTING STIMULATORS

Authors:   St. Wagner, V. Oprita, T. Panea
Abstract:
There are obtained good results in rhisogenesis stimulation with 107 interspecific sweet cherry hybrids for rootstocks.

The highest percentage of rooted cuttings was obtained in the following crosses: C. avium, C. nipponica kurilensis x C. avium, C. fruticosa x C. niponica kurilensis, C. fruticosa x C. subhirtella. When C. avium was used as female parent the results were less effective (below 60% rooted cuttings). The rooting expressed by number of roots and lenght of rooted section was improved by Radi-Stim 7 application as powder.

Following the investigations, there were selected 60 clones showing more than 70% rooting, out of which 23 with 100% rooting without using heating and artificial mist devices.
