Abstract:
The growth of shoot-tips of Prunus cerasus was very slow in the first culture period.
The tips were cultured on a modified MS-medium with macro-elements half-strength, with BAP in concentrations of 0; 0.01 mg/1; 0.1 mg/1 and 1 mg/l with either GA3 (0.1 mg/l) or m-inositol (100 mg/l). After 6 weeks of culture it was not possible to distinguish a significant influence on growth of the different levels of growth regulators.
In the following subculture the effects were evident or could be masked by the choice of an appropriate combination of growth regulators.
The optimum of the BAP level for propagation and growth was between 0.1 mg/l and 1 mg/l, whereas GA3 and m-inositol had no significant influences at the tested concentrations.
