Abstract:
Investigations were carried out to evaluate the effect of growth regulators on lateral shoot growth in Fosterella penduliflora.
Various concentrations of benzyladenine /BA/, kinetin /K/ and naphthalene-acetic-acid /NAA/ separately and in combination were applied as foliar spray on 9-month old plants.
It was found that among growth regulators the most effective was BA. Benzyladenine treatment at concentration of 800 mg/l increased the lateral shoot production over 50% compared with untreated plants.
However, following the higher production of shoots, a decreasing of both length and shoot thickness was observed.
