Abstract:
The effect of kinetin, 6-benzyladenine (BA) and isopentenyladenine (2iP) in concentrations: 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10 and 20 mg/l on the multiplication of gerbera cv.
Marleen shoots was investigated.
Shoots from multiplantlets grown on media with 1.25 and 20 mg of BA/l were rooted on standard gerbera rooting medium.
The best multiplication was achieved on BA media independently from its concentration, however leaves' and petiols' morphology was changed.
The best medium for multiplication, regarding coefficient of multiplication and lack of abnormalities, was the medium with 5 mg of kinetin/l.
The concentration of BA applied to the multiplication influenced number of roots during subsequent rooting but not their length.
