Abstract:
It was shown that methyl jasmonate at concentration 1.0% in lanolin paste caused the rapid and strong senescence of the leaves of intact tulip.
The morphological changes indicated by visible yellowing moving upwards from the insertion place were followed by the degradation of chlorophyll a and b, however the decrease of chlorophyll a was bigger.
These above senescing changes were accompanied by differences in the peroxidase isoforms mainly in the appearance of new isoforms or activation of other ones.
This kind of changes in peroxidase was similar in senescent leaves after JA-Me treatment as well as naturally senescent.
