ISHS Acta Horticulturae 167: II Symposium on Growth Regulators in Floriculture

THE INFLUENCE OF GA AND CCC AT DIFFERENT NIGHT TEMPERATURE ON THE DYNAMICS OF FLOWER INDUCTION IN CARNATION

Authors:   R. Börner, W. Decker
Abstract:
Comparing the effects of growth regulators, additional light and night temperature on the dynamics of bud formation in carnation makes it possible to formulate a hierarchy of factors, which may be the following:
  • intensity and direction of reactions are influenced by the time point at which the experiment takes place and the dominance position of the shoot under examination;
  • if in the same experiment different treatments of the same shoot are compared, the direction of the effects of additional light and growth regulators are determined by the temperature treatment.
