Abstract:
The effect of growth regulators on keeping quality and longevity of cut Lilium 'Prima' inflorescences was investigated.
Gibberellic acid treatment resulted in increasing longevity and floret size, and in retardation of foliage discolouration.
Gibberellic acid treatment was effective in improving quality of freshly cut inflorescences, as well as inflorescences stored for 3 weeks at 1°C.
Treatment with benzyladenine, kinetin, CCC or Alar did not improve postharvest quality and longevity of the inflorescences.
