ISHS Acta Horticulturae 165: III International Symposium on Vaccinium Culture

BLUEBERRY CULTURE IN THE NETHERLANDS

Author:   J. Dijkstra
Abstract:
Blueberry growing in the Netherlands is extending only slowly. It has however, become more and more intensified and especially directed to the fresh market. Problems are the moderate growth of the bushes and choice of cultivars. Research on blueberries is very limited. In the past few years only some pollination trials were carried out and recently a new cultivar trial and trials with mycorrhizal fungi were started.

More international co-operation seems desirable. It is felt that an international newsletter could be a valuable help to keep everyone involved in blueberry research informed about current developments.
