Abstract:
Blueberry fruit cvs "Herbert", "Lateblue" and "Goldrobe" were stored under low pressure /LPS/ conditions: 38 mm Hg, 190 mm Hg ; and controlled atmosphere /CA/ storages: 20% CO2 : 3% O2 , 5% CO2 : 3% O2 at 2°C. The quality of fruits stored under 38 mm Hg was compared with berries stored at 0°C or 2°C in normal air and pressure.
The loss of weight, level of soluble solids, titrate acidity and percent of fruit rot were established.
Botrytis cinerea Pers. mainly destroyed blueberries under all tested conditions.
Berries cv "Herbert" were the best after storage under 38 mm Hg or 5%CO2:3%O2, but later three days keeping at 20°C tasted bad.
The cheapest and quite good condition for blueberry storage in practice was 0°C in normal air.
