Abstract:
Small blueberry plants of Bluecrop and Jersey cultivars were planted into the pots with two types of substrates: peat and peat mixed with sawdust at the ratio 1:1. Four doses of nitrogen fertilizer were applied: 0 /control/: 90; 180 and 120 kg N/ha.
The plants fertilized with higher dose of nitrogen gave more shoots in both substrates.
The substrate with peat provided better growing conditions than the peat mixed with sawdust.
However the plants growing in the mixture of peat with sawdust and fertilized with highest dose of nitrogen were smaller than the control, unfertilized plants grown in the peat only.
