Abstract:
The American robin, Turdus migratorius, is the key avian pest in highbush blueberries grown in Quebec.
Methiocarb-treated blueberries presented on wooden tables positioned between rows showed limited potential to reduce bird depredation.
There were indications that some conditioned aversion to the methiocarb-treated berries could be induced in a few days of exposure.
Tetrachlorvinphos, azinphos-methyl and methiocarb were equally effective as an avian repellent.
