SPACING, FERTILIZATION AND SOIL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS FOR BLUEBERRIES

Authors:   O. Rosca, P. Mladin
Abstract:
The blueberry culture has only recently been introduced in Romania but it planned to extend it on the acid soils of the Western plain, Transilvania tableland, as well as the foothills where rainfall exceeds 800 mm.

Earlier studies /Beckwith, Coville and Doehlert, 1973, Johnson, 1943/ and more recent ones /Ballinger, 1962,Moore, 1966, Gh. Badescu, 1978/ show that blueberry reacts favourably to fertilization with mineral and organic fertilizers.

Simultaneously with blueberry culture extension it was necessary to establish some agrotechnical methods such as: spacing, fertilization and management systems.
