Abstract:
On an upland mineral soil and under winter temperatures sometimes reaching -31°C, the cultivars 'Northland', 'Blueray', 'Bluecrop' and 'Bluetta' gave the highest yields. 'Coville', 'Berkeley' and 'Blueray' produced the largest berries.
The incorporation of sawdust before planting combined with either a sawdust mulch or trickle irrigation appears to be the best soil improvement treatments for highbush blueberries.
