Abstract:
Genotype and culture had significant effects on highbush blueberry yields. 'Blueray' and 'Northland' were more tolerant to winter cold than 13 other cultivars, while 'Elliot' and 'Lateblue' were the least damaged by spring frosts.
Moderate pruning appeared to enhance yield and cane production in 'Jersey'. No cultivars were found to have immunity to Shoestring virus although 'Bluecrop' has never shown symptoms in the field.
Foliar fertilization had variable effects on yield in 'Jersey' and 'Rubel'.
