IDENTIFICATION AND SYMPTOM EXPRESSION OF FOUR ELONGATED VIRUSES INFECTING BULBOUS IRISES

Abstract:
Host ranges were determined of four elongated viruses, viz., iris mild mosaic virus, iris severe mosaic virus, iris mild yellow mosaic virus, and bean yellow mosaic virus. Differences in host ranges of these viruses with those described in the literature will be discussed. After inoculation of the viruses other than iris mild mosaic virus on virus-free iris cv. Professor Blaauw and Iris reticulata, symptoms developed which were identical to those of the various viruses in combination with iris mild mosaic virus.
