| Abstract:
The climatic conditions of the severe winter of 1980–81 (Granger 1982) have killed 30% of the entire apple tree population of the province of Quebec (Rousselle 1983) and have as well destroyed pear trees (Granger 1981). This second most severe test winter of this century in Quebec provided an excellent opportunity to assess the relative cold hardiness of newly planted pear trees. | |
