ISHS Acta Horticulturae 161: Symposium on Production and Preservation of Pears

ANNUAL FLUCTUATION OF THE CONTENT OF MACRO AND OLIGO ELEMENTS IN ONE AND FOUR YEARS OLD BEARING WOOD OF VARIOUS PEAR CULTIVARS

Author:   S. Bulatovic
Abstract:
Mineral nutrition of pear has been conducted but not through a systematic and complex means. Particularla it has not been investigated annually individual macro and trace elements in the wood of various age and per months. There are only data on the content of macro and trace elements in pear wood during determined periods and in different organs. Such data can be found in the papers of Kenworthy (1950, 1961), Mengel and Kirby (1978), Masson et al (1971), Ivanov (1908), Klossowsky and Domanska (1968), Boynton and Oberley (1966), Bulatovic et al (1977, 1981).

The objective of the present investigation was to determine mineral content in pear wood per months. The importance of investigation is high since the results obtained can represent a good basis for a precise application of mineral nutrition and pruning of pear.
