Abstract:
High density peach plantings require an inexpensive source of trees.
Peach trees were successfully rooted from either semihardwood cuttings placed in a mist propagation bed or from dormant hardwood cuttings stuck directly in the field.
Rooting of semihardwood cuttings is not dependent upon cultivar and requires well drained rooting media.
Hardwood cuttings root easily when wounded and treated with 5000 or 10,000 ppm IBA. 'Harvester' or 'Redhaven' hardwood cuttings treated with 5000 or 10,000 ppm rooted equally well.
