| Abstract:
In fruit growing one of the most difficult problems is the choice between alternative plantings and the determination of the optimal replacing time. Focused on the Dutch situation a computer model has been developed for economic evaluation of orchards. The purpose of the model is twofold. On the one side it is used for evaluation of technical research results. On the other side it is meant as an advisory tool with regard to the selection of investments and the replacement question. In this publication the structure of the model will be briefly outlined and the results of an evaluation of planting density with the help of the model will be shown. | |
