ISHS Acta Horticulturae 160: III International Symposium on Research and Development on Orchard and Plantation Systems

HIGH-DENSITY PLANTING OF PEACHES UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF THE BELGRADE FRUIT-GROWING AREA

Author:   I. Ninkovski
Abstract:
This paper presents the results of an experiment on effects of planting density on peach trees on seedling rootstocks. The planting densities were 1 111, 1 481 and 1 667 trees per hectare. Crops in the third year were 12.5 to 17.9 tonnes/ha. This yield level is not attained in lower density orchards (500 trees per hectare) until the fifth or sixth year from planting.
