Abstract:
Trees of Apricot, CVS Canino and Polonais, have been treated during the growth season with Paclobutrazol.
Two procedures have been used :
- tree spraying with Paclobutrazol water solutions at the rate of 250 and 1 000 mg/l
- soil applications and root absorption at the rate of 2 g of this chemical per tree.
The spray applications were realized in one time at the full concentration or divided in two, three or four successive operations at one week interval with a solution concentration divided by two, three or four at every spraying.
The effect of Paclobutrazol on the growth speed and shoot lengthening is quite significant on both cultivars.
The comparison of floral initiation on treated and control trees shows that the treatment increases the floral potential of the former.
This increase is related with date of treatment, procedure of application and sequence of treatments.
