ISHS Acta Horticulturae 155: VIII Symposium on Horticultural Economics

ANALYSIS, STRUCTURING AND QUANTIFICATION OF PRODUCTION METHODS IN HORTICULTURE

Authors:   G. Stoffert, W. Besener
Abstract:
Efficient plant production means to find out the best plantphysiological way (cultivation method) to grow plants and to find out the best work methods for doing the necessary works while growing or harvesting plants. The combination between a defined cultivation method and a known number of used and defined work methods is named production method.

To-day it is possible to calculate the working time requirement of production methods under the specific influences of each horticultural enterprise with the help of a mainframe computer. An investigation is going on to change the mainframe computer for a micro-computer, owned by a horticultural enterprise. The next step will be the labour disposition in this enterprise.
