Abstract:
Production costs, as for December 1983, have been evaluated for the thirteen most representative horticultural produces grown in the Levante Region, with the purpose of knowing the influence of the main chapters integrating these costs on the production structure.
For each crop, the information was gathered in the most current type of enterprise, and the inputs at market price were evaluated both, whether these were supplied by the enterprise or obtained elsewhere, In the scheme designed for the calculation, the unit price was determined, being coincidental with the profitability threshold, which needs to be surpassed in the sale of the produces, to obtain a net return to risk and management.
Finally, the cost per unit is presented in graphs, indicating also the prices existing in the past five seasons for tomatoes and artichokes, and over the past ten season for W. navel oranges, being established the profit margin and risk level in the prices for each date.
